The Three Student Leadership and Character Development beliefs, that all students must adopt if they are going to be successful.
Character Development and Student Leadership Belief Number One:
It’s not what you look like on the outside that matters, its your character development on the inside that counts.
Students are “hammered” with the importance of looks through media, the internet and advertising. In school, it’s worse you can see it with the growing of bullying complaints and violence in the schools. Students are picked on because their too tall or too short, too skinny or too fat. They’re made fun of if they don’t wear the right clothes.
It’s vital that students learn that looks are superficial and that it’s your character and leadership know withal that are going to make you successful or not.
Character Development and Student Leadership Belief Number Two:
You can do anything in life that you want as long as you believe in yourself.
Napoleon Hill said, “Whatever the mind of a man can conceive, he can achieve.” This is true, isn’t it? Yet, the sad truth is, that many students are told daily that they can’t or won’t succeed. That they are dumb. That they never “never do anything right”.
The Magic In You character development and student leadership program will plant the seeds of confidence in students and help them believe in themselves.
Character Development and Student Leadership Belief Number Three:
Never, ever give up.
This is closely related to belief number two. Let’s face it, you can try your hardest and not succeed. This is something that students need to realize. But they must also know the importance of not giving up after a set back. That they must keep trying if they are going to succeed.
TRUE STORY: Thomas Edison failed over 1500 times before he successfully invented the light bulb. Abraham Lincoln failed many, many times before he was elected President. Students need to know these things so they will be motivated to go for it!
