The ABC’s Of Goal Setting
The Webster dictionary states that (a Goal is the end toward which effort is directed).
It’s a proven fact that most people plan their vacations better then they plan their lives.
Success psychologists say that 95% – 97% of people that do not write down their goals fail, while the 3-5% of the people that do write down their goals succeed.
This statistic is staggering: because out of the 3-5% of the people that write down their goals most don’t even take them serious.
An ivy league college was once evaluating and studying a group of students when they came to the school, and then re-evaluated them 10 years later after they graduated. They found in their study that the students who had been the most successful in life weren’t the ones who had achieved the highest grades. They were the ones who had specific goals, 10 years ago.
You can see that the big difference between successful people and unsuccessful people. Successful people have their goals in mind. They know where they want to go and finally they get there. So you need to start with a target, a destination, a goal.
You may ask me: “How to achieve goals? It is easier said than done.” You are right. Many people fail not because they don’t have goals, they fail because they haven’t achieved their goals, giving up during the journey. There is a long road from goal to success.
Goal setting is so important because of two reasons:
Reason #1: If you don’t know where you are at in your life, how do you know where to go?
Reason #2: A lot of frustration that we may feel in life stems from the lack of productivity in our lives on a day to day basis.
Listen!, The fact of the matter is, when you wake up your either working from your agenda, someone else’s agenda, or no agenda at
